About this webinar

Cancer research is continuously advancing our understanding of how normal cells transform into cancerous cells and how these discoveries can lead to new therapeutic strategies. From identifying molecular mechanisms responsible for tumour development to investigating potential anticancer compounds, the journey from cancer biology to drug discovery plays a crucial role in modern biomedical research.

The Learnin presents “From Cancer Biology to Cancer Drug Discovery: Translating Scientific Discoveries into Potential Therapies,” an educational webinar exploring the biological foundations of cancer, emerging molecular targets, and the scientific approaches used to discover and evaluate potential anticancer drugs.

The session will introduce the mechanisms underlying cancer development, including disruptions in normal cell growth, oncogenes, tumour suppressor genes, apoptosis, and the emerging significance of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in cancer progression and therapeutic research. Participants will also explore conventional cancer treatments and investigate how natural products, particularly plant-derived compounds, can contribute to anticancer drug discovery.

Moving from fundamental biology to laboratory applications, the webinar will introduce cancer cell culture, cytotoxicity assays, dose–response curves, and IC₅₀ analysis as essential tools for evaluating potential anticancer compounds. It will also examine the journey from laboratory discoveries to potential treatments, highlighting preclinical research, clinical trials, regulatory evaluation, and the contributions of pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Whether you are a life sciences student, research scholar, aspiring cancer researcher, or biotechnology enthusiast, this webinar will help you understand how discoveries in cancer biology can inform the development of future therapeutic approaches.

Join The Learnin to explore how molecular research, laboratory investigations, and drug development strategies work together to advance cancer research and the search for better treatments.
